This Cookie & Email Policy explains how Talk Arabic uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how we send commercial electronic messages. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Cookies and similar technologies we use
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We also use related technologies such as local storage. We group them as follows:
- Essential — needed for the site to work, including security, page navigation and remembering choices you make during a visit. These cannot be switched off through our site.
- Functional / preferences — remember settings such as your language choice so the site behaves the way you expect on your next visit. We currently set two preference cookies (mirrored in local storage): ta_lang (your language choice) and ta_theme (your light/dark theme), each kept for up to 12 months.
- Analytics — we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. Plausible is cookieless and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you; it gives us aggregate, anonymised statistics about how the site is used.
We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites.
Managing or opting out
Because our analytics (Plausible) is cookieless and anonymised, there is no analytics cookie for you to refuse.
You can control or delete other cookies and stored data through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or clear cookies and warn you before one is set. See your browser's help pages for instructions.
Please note that essential cookies and storage are required for core features to work. If you block them, parts of the site may not function correctly.
Email and electronic messages
We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) when we send commercial electronic messages, such as newsletters and promotional emails.
- We send commercial messages only with your consent (for example, when you subscribe or ask us to keep you updated).
- Every commercial email clearly identifies Talk Arabic as the sender and includes our contact details.
- Every commercial email includes a working unsubscribe option.
- If you unsubscribe, we honour your request promptly and stop sending you commercial messages.
We may still send you necessary service messages relating to your account or purchases (such as booking confirmations or payment receipts), as these are not promotional.
